AMD Ryzen 2400G PC Build/Setup under ₹50K.

Are you thinking of building a budget PC setup around ₹50K?
But the inflated GPU prices (Even low-tier Graphics Card) has you pinned down due to the crypto-mining frenzy?

Well, fret not, even in these terrible times for budget gamers, AMD Ryzen APUs is here to save the day.

Without any further mumbling, here goes the list.

[NOTE: Benchmark and Performance will be in the end.]

THE PARTS:

• Processor:

The Ryzen 2400G offers extremely good performance for its price and its integrated GPU solution.
And since our budget won't really allow a good graphics card, the 2400G is undoubtedly the perfect choice.

AMD RYZEN 2400G - SPECIFICATIONS

Price: ₹12,390. [mdcomputers.in]

 • Motherboard:

For Ryzen’s AM4 budget APU platform, there is basically two viable Motherboard options ---                                                  A320 Or B350 boards.

Choosing is simple, if you want to overclock your system for slightly better performance, then you need to go with the more expensive, B350 Motherboards.

If you think Overclocking is complex and you’re quite satisfied with stock performance or you’re in a tight budget, then go with the non-overclockable board – A320.

For this list I chose, MSI A320M PRO-VD/S

Price: ₹3,765. [mdcomputers.in]

NOTE:

  • BIOS Update may be required, for the Ryzen APU. Enquire with motherboard seller.
  • Overclocking is generally not great with stock cooler and stock thermal paste, so this route
gets more expensive and require aftermarket cooling solutions.

 • PSU:

Since, we won’t be needing a dedicated Graphics Card, I went with the most sensible and capable SMPS/ PSU for our budget --- Corsair’s VS450.

It comes with 80+ certification and since, it has 450W, it does offer some future Upgradability
options, should you need it.

Price: ₹ 2,640. [Amazon.in]

• RAM:

So, this is one aspect where we need to get the best performing DDR4 RAM for the Vega 11 Graphics to work well and for smooth gameplay.

In case of APUs, higher speed RAM in Dual-Channel is favoured for significantly better performance compared to lesser speed RAM in Single-Channel.

So, I went with a DDR4 16 GB Kit (8GB X 2) 3200 MHz RAM from G.Skill.

Price: ₹ 15,200. [mdcomputers.in]

• HDD:

Is the hard-drive really a choice in budget PC builds?
Just blindly go for WD Blue 1TB HDD.

Price: ₹ 2,850. [mdcomputers.in]

• SSD (Optional):

In 2018, do you really need a reason to not get a SSD?

While, Windows 10 is much faster in boot-times than its predecessors (Windows 7 and 8), A SSD is still way faster and also acts as a fast-accessible drive for frequently used Programmes and games, where faster loading times is appreciated.

Kingston A400- While not the fastest 120GB in the market, its the cheapest and very capable.

Price: ₹ 2,395.  [mdcomputers.in]

• DVD Writer (Optional)
   LG 24X

Price: ₹ 950. [mdcomputers.in]

 • Case:

This is something, best to buy offline from local PC stores for way better deals than online.
So, hit your local PC / Electronic market place and find a case/cabinet that can fit your preferred motherboard size and leave you ample room for multiple HDD/SSD/Graphics Card with sufficient cable management space.

For this list, I chose, a Frontech mini-ITX Case for only ₹1000.

Price: ₹ 1,000.

NOTE: Ensure that the case has USB 3.1 connectors instead of USB 2.0 for the front/top/side I/O.

• Case fan:

At the very minimum, you should have an exhaust fan to get the warm exhaust airflow from the CPU cooler to get out of the case.

But for a balanced airflow, an addition of an Intake fan is also suggested to achieve neutral “Push-Pull” configuration.

I went with two cheap generic brand 120mm case fans from the local market for ₹200 each.

Price: ₹ 400. (For a pair)

Other Optionals:

• After Market Thermal Paste (Optional):

CoolerMaster Mastergel Pro Thermal Paste to swap the stock thermal paste that comes with the stock Wraith Spire Cooler, for even lower CPU temps (Should you feel the need to overclock on the stock Cooler.)

Price: ₹ 425. [mdcomputers.in]

• Monitor:

AOC 18.5Inch LED E970SWNL Monitor.

Price: ₹ 4,379. [Amazon.in]

• Speakers:

  Philips IN-SPA25G/94 USB Speakers (Orange).

  Price: ₹ 445. [Amazon.in]

• Keyboard & Mouse:

Amkette Xcite Pro USB Keyboard and Mouse Combo (Black).

Price: ₹ 469. [Amazon.in]

• PC Headset:

iBall Rocky Over-Ear Headphones with Mic.

Price: ₹ 469. [Amazon.in]

• Webcam:

Logitech C170 Webcam.

Price: ₹ 949. [Amazon.in]

Benchmarks & Performance:

Total Price: ₹43,624. (Without any optionals)

With only optional SSD: ₹45,019.
With all optional items:   ₹48,726.
(Including Monitor, Keyboard/Mouse Combo, Speakers, Headphones, Thermal Paste and Webcam)

Note:
This Total Price is based online prices as of 31-07-2018.
Your local tech/electronic market will have way better prices for the same products.
